Who are we?

Dolls & Limberjacks is a working group of St. Samen Voor Elkaar (Together For Each Other Foundation), a non-profit organisation based in The Netherlands.

We make Jig Dolls (Limberjacks) and teach workshops at events, festivals, folk clubs for organisations, schools, activity groups, institutions, choirs, bands and companies throughout Europe.

We have held workshops at festivals such as Bie Daip (NL) and Deunen en Deinen (NL) and for folk clubs. Workshop Vids

What do we do?

In a workshop of about 45 minutes we teach participants how to use the Jig Doll as a percussion instrument.

During our workshop, participants learn to tap beat and rhythm, dance and jump with the Jig Doll and of course, how to provide percussion for songs and melodies.

Participants have the opportunity to try out different Jig Dolls and learn how the combination of plank and Jig Doll can make a difference in the sounds and tempo.

How do we do it?

We bring enough Jig Dolls for participants to use during the workshop, we advise a maximum of 15 people (for ease of teaching, as we also give individual hints and tips to participants). We bring recorded music, or you can arrange for musicians to provide live music during the workshop.

Each participant will have the opportunity to try out various types of Jig Dolls.

We also have Jig Dolls for sale with us, should participants want to take one home with them.
